Constant questions
I wake up every day with so many questions.
From the day I was told I had cancer I have had so many questions. I have yet to get any answers. no one can tell me why I developed Pancreatic cancer, no one can tell me why I was able to have the whipple and survive for almost 2 years where others have not.
not long after I came home I started searching for a pancreatic cancer support group here in Northwest Arkansas. I have yet to find one, I have asked my Dr.’s I have looked online. I know I am not the only person in this area to be diagnosed with this deadly cancer. so where are the others? I am still searching for others who have this cancer..I have talked to family members online of people who are fighting to live. many are not doing well. I know there are others out there like myself, I just want to find them. I have a new mission in 2009 and that mission is to find as many survivors of pancreatic cancer as I can. so if you read this and you know someone tell them to comment and let me know who they are..I can also be found on myspace and facebook. please help me if you can!
I am looking forward to meeting survivors this year in St Louis Missouri at the Siteman cancer center at Washing University Medical Center. My Dr. and his group are wonderfull and I know that so many others feel the same way. you can visit his web site and learn more about him at http://www.siteman.wustl.edu/DocProfile.aspx?Type=Patient&memid=1695
None of us know how much time we have on this earth, I want to believe I was given more time to accomplish something. It has taken me 2 years to try to understand what that might be. if anything, it has made me aware that I have a voice and I want it to be heard!
did you know that they are estimating that this year we will see 30,000 new cases of pancreatic cancer and of those 29,000 people will lose the fight with this cancer. this cancer is serious and we need to find a cure before someone else has to go though what my family and the families of everyone diagnosed last year has gone through. if you want to help you can go to many of the cancer web sites and donate to hlep find a cure. if you would like to read more about Washington University and the siteman cancer center you can visit this link. http://www.siteman.wustl.edu
